    Pembroke Pines has chosen a 6-foot high concrete wall to adorn one of its easternmost borders. Neighbor Hollywood is going with Clusia shrubs to spruce up their portion of that area.

    Hollywood and Pembroke Pines are ready to upgrade the unsightly row of tattered backyard fences and a crumbling concrete wall that make up their shared border.   But how they spruce it up will differ.
    Pembroke Pines plans to erect a six-foot high concrete wall on its easternmost border at Pines Boulevard. Hollywood is going with Clusia shrubs.
More than a decade ago, Pembroke Pines planted ficus shrubs along the entire stretch, including Hollywood. But those plants started dying so Pembroke Pines tore them down last spring, exposing an unattractive hodgepodge.
